PaceMatcher Terms of Service

Welcome to PaceMatcher. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PaceMatcher mobile application, website, features, and related services (“PaceMatcher,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using PaceMatcher, you agree to these Terms.
## 1. About PaceMatcher
PaceMatcher helps runners discover compatible running partners, connect through profiles and messaging, and use running-related features such as saved profiles, chats, challenges, achievements, and run tracking.
PaceMatcher is not a medical, emergency, coaching, or professional safety service. You are responsible for deciding whether, where, when, and with whom to run.
## 2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your location, to use PaceMatcher. By using PaceMatcher, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
## 3. Your Account
You may sign in using supported authentication providers, such as Google, Apple, or Facebook. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
You agree not to create an account using false information, impersonate another person, or use another user’s account without permission.
## 4. User Profiles and Content
You may upload or share information such as your name, photos, running preferences, location-related details, messages, and other content (“User Content”).
You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant PaceMatcher a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, process, and use that content as needed to operate, improve, and provide the service.
You are responsible for your User Content and agree not to upload or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, deceptive, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate.
## 5. Matching, Messaging, and Safety
PaceMatcher may suggest or display potential running partners based on profile details, preferences, location-related information, activity, or other signals. We do not guarantee compatibility, availability, conduct, identity, background, fitness level, or safety of any user.
When meeting another user, use good judgment. Meet in public places, tell someone where you are going, follow local laws, and do not share sensitive personal information with people you do not trust.
If you experience unsafe, abusive, or suspicious behavior, stop communication and use available reporting or blocking tools.
## 6. Run Tracking and Location Features
PaceMatcher may include features that use location, route, pace, distance, or activity data. These features are provided for convenience and may be inaccurate, unavailable, delayed, or affected by device settings, GPS conditions, network connectivity, or third-party services.
Do not rely on PaceMatcher for emergency response, navigation in dangerous areas, medical decisions, or personal safety.
## 7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
– Use PaceMatcher for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
– Harass, threaten, stalk, exploit, or discriminate against other users.
– Upload false, misleading, or inappropriate content.
– Attempt to access another user’s account or private information.
– Scrape, copy, reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the service.
– Use PaceMatcher to send spam, scams, malware, or unauthorized promotions.
– Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
## 8. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Payments
If PaceMatcher offers paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases, pricing and billing terms will be shown before purchase. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are handled by those platforms and are subject to their payment, cancellation, and refund rules.
You are responsible for managing subscriptions through your app store account unless we provide another approved billing method.
Google Play requires developers to clearly inform users about pricing and subscription terms for paid app features, and Apple provides standard or custom license terms for apps distributed through the App Store. ## 9. Third-Party Services
PaceMatcher may use or integrate with third-party services, including authentication providers, maps, analytics, cloud hosting, notifications, app stores, or payment processors. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
## 10. Privacy
Your use of PaceMatcher is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information. Please review it at:

## 11. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to PaceMatcher if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for other users, misused the service, or if we need to protect PaceMatcher, our users, or others.
You may stop using PaceMatcher at any time. You may also request account deletion through the app or by contacting us.
## 12. Service Availability
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of PaceMatcher at any time. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, secure, uninterrupted, or error-free.
## 13. Disclaimers
PaceMatcher is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that users are who they say they are, that matches will be suitable, or that running with another user will be safe.
## 14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaceMatcher and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from your use of the service.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
## 15. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PaceMatcher from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
## 16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, website, or other reasonable means. Your continued use of PaceMatcher after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
